The rial was quoted at 38,210 to the US dollar on Monday, gaining 0.79% against the greenback compared with Sunday’s close, according to Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union’s website. The average exchange rate of the dollar was 38,100 rials on Monday, according to Central Bank of Iran’s SANA rate system. Rial gained against most of the foreign currencies on Monday. Euro and British pound changed hands for 41,760 and 48,620 rials on Monday, down by 180 rials and 90 rials, respectively. Turkish lira experienced the highest drop of 1.07% in its exchange rate. The currency was traded at 10,310 rials on Monday, the lowest rate in the past six months. Bahar Azadi gold coin sold for 11.43 million rials, down by 80,000 rials compared with Sunday’s close.
