It is projected that some 112,000 job opportunities will be revived by bringing the defunct industrial units back to life, Mohammad Abrishami, the deputy minister of industry, mine and trade, said on Saturday. “Liquidity shortage and technological deficiencies forced around 14,000 industrial units to cease operations between 2005 and 2012,” he said, adding that 40% of such units can be put back into operation if they are provided with sufficient financial resources. According to ISNA, Abrishami noted that the industrial units with less than 50 employees are categorized as small industries, adding, “Small industries account for 92% of the total number of industries in Iran and have created nearly one million job opportunities.”
