12,500 Promissory Notes Protested

Nearly 12,500 promissory notes worth 2108.6 billion rials ($78 million at official rate) have been protested in Tehran during the first seven months of the year (March 22 - October 22), the Central Bank of Iran announced this week. The average index for the number of the promissory notes was 116.4, indicating a 37.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The index for the value of the notes was 85.7, showing a 20.2 percent decrease.
