The ministry of communications and information technology has received only 6 trillion rials ($223 million) of the total 15 trillion rials ($559 million) in state budget allocated for the telecommunications sector with less than four months remaining of the current fiscal year (ending March 21, 2015), the ICT minister, Mahmoud Vaezi said. He said this is far less than the money the ministry needs to pay its contractors, FNA reported on Friday.
