Personal auto policy and health insurance accounted for 65% of insurers’ premium income during the eight months to November 20. The latest statistics released by the Central Insurance of Iran reveal that insurers sold 12.4 million mandatory personal auto policies worth 66.8 trillion rials ($1.6 billion at the market exchange rate), marking a year-on-year growth of 5% in sold policies and a 28% rise in value. Insurers also earned 49.6 trillion rials ($1.2 billion) by selling over one million health insurance policies during the eight-month period. Numbers indicate a 13.6% growth in earned premiums and 48% growth in the number of sold premiums in the health category. The payout ratio of PAPs stood at 60% whereas the ratio was 70% for health category.
