One-fifth of the companies listed on Tehran Stock Exchange raised equity this year.
One-hundred and four of the 506 companies listed on TSE have increased their capital during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 20), according to Securities and Exchange Organization’s supervision executive, Gholamreza Abutorabi.
The companies have raised a total of 150 trillion rials ($3.86 billion at market exchange rate) during the period, SENA reported.
New money from shareholders made up 55% of the capital raised while the rest was funded from retained earnings or revaluation of assets. The total market cap of all listed companies on TSE is currently $87.8 billion.
