The 20th Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group’s General Meeting dubbed ACG20 opened in Tehran on Tuesday. Organized by the Central Securities Depository of Iran, the event was attended by Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia and top CSDI officials from 21 countries and will run until December 8. The theme of the 2016 conference, according to ACG20’s website, is “further collaboration of CSDs in the evolving global business environment”. The CSDI is expected to sign two memoranda of understanding with Taiwan Depository and Clearing Corporation, and Japan Securities Depository Center Incorporation on the sidelines of the event. ACG was formed in 1997 as an informal international organization with the objective of facilitating the exchange of information and promotion of mutual assistance among member securities depositories and clearing organizations in the Asia-Pacific region.
