The US dollar bought 37,020 rials on Tuesday, jumping by 0.5% or 200 rials compared with yesterday’s close, according to Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union’s website. Central Bank of Iran’s Sana system however, put the greenback at 36,803 rials. Sana announces the average rates of forex deals across Tehran during the course of the trade day. Unlike the market rate, the official US dollar, set by the CBI, experienced a slight drop (at 3 rials) on Tuesday, being offered at 32,056 rials. Other major currencies also recorded rallies on Teusday. Euro was traded at 40,080 rials, up by 1.21%. British pound exchanged hands at 46,750 rials, marking a 1.45% growth compared with Monday’s close. The Turkish lira marked the highest growth, inching up by 2.5% compared with yesterday’s close. The currency fetched 11,490 rials on Tuesday.
