About 27 percent of the construction budget was spent by the government during the first four months of the current fiscal year, which started in 20 March, 2014. According to Tasnim news agency, the government spent 11.1 trillion rials ($416 million) of the 41 trillion ($1.53 billion) set aside for the government’s construction projects. Data also shows a 210 percent increase in money used for construction over the period, compared to the first quarter of last year. The government spent 3.5 trillion rials ($134 million) on construction projects in the first quarter of the last fiscal year.
