MPs Present Report on Executive Pay Scandal

Majlis Article 90 Commission put forth a 10-point proposal for organizing executive pay in the government in Tuesday’s parliamentary meeting. The report called for an overhaul of the government’s salary system to close the legal loopholes that allowed some high-ranking government executives to take out lavish salaries and loans at the expense of taxpayers. The commission, which investigates complaints about the conduct of parliament, government and the judiciary, offered a proposal after reporting its findings on the executive pay scandal that started in March, after images of paychecks of government executives were leaked on the social media, Eghtesad News reported.
