The production line for Iranian-made medicine Fingolimod, prescribed to help treat flare-up of multiple sclerosis, was launched in Moscow on Wednesday in the presence of Iran’s Minister of Health Seyyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi and his accompanying delegation. According to agreements reached by the two sides, Iran will transfer the knowhow for the production of the drug’s raw material in Russia on par with international standards. The product is to be sold in Russia and other countries, Russia’s state news agency Sputnik reported. Cooperation between Russia and Iran in the pharmaceutical sector is on the upswing. Recently, Petrovax Pharm, a leading Russian pharmaceutical entity, signed a deal with Iranian counterpart Arvin Biopharma LTD for the production of its influenza vaccine in Iran. Petrovax Pharm’s anti-influenza vaccine Grippol Plus has attracted significant attention among Iranian physicians and pharmacists, and the country is now in the process of indigenizing the vaccine’s production technology.
