The inaugural Focus Iran Summit will open on September 26 at the Espinas Palace Hotel in Tehran.

The two-day investment summit aims to bring together top names from the world of business who will discuss strategies on how to take Iran ahead on a global scale, online public relations portal OpenPR reported.

The two-day summit has managed to attract a lot of interest from organizations overseas, which are confident of Iran’s huge investment potential receiving the most appropriate mileage from keen foreign investors.

For instance, Sohar Port and Free Zone is surveying plans to expand business in the coming months with Iran. Anders Kron, commercial manager for Middle East for the Sohar zone, said as Iran reopens for international business, Sohar is ideally placed as the region’s fastest growing Port and free zone, outside the Strait of Hormuz and within only a short sailing distance of many Iranian ports.

“Fast developing as a major regional hub for food, logistics, metals and petrochemicals, at Sohar we see huge opportunities in partnering with Iranian businesses across many sectors. We are excited about the upcoming Focus Iran Summit in Tehran and are looking forward to connecting with the many Iranian companies and senior executives scheduled to attend,” he said.

Kron will be present at the Focus Iran Summit to present his views on how Sohar Port and Free Zone plans to ramp up investments in the region.

The friendly and encouraging response has also stoked the interest of the local companies that are keen on networking with representatives from strong markets such as Europe, Middle East, Far East and Russia.

Siamak Goudarzi, CEO of Open Iran Group, which is also the co-organizer of the event, said, “Focus Iran Summit is connecting people with a real thrust to conduct business with Iran. Speakers will basically answer how this can be achieved. Solely, the networking opportunities provided by the event are unique, as they are focused, informal and effective.”

Goudarzi believes that the sectors covered by the summit reflect the immediate need of the country for services of international standards, thereby lending immediate opportunities for those who have something to bring to the table.

The summit will also feature a host of legal and political experts who consider it crucial to understand geographic and economic dynamics to better understand the scope of business.

Presentations will be made by individuals such as renowned sanctions lawyer Sarosh Zaiwalla, senior partner at Zaiwalla & Co., and Philip Worman, partner at GPW Political Risk, who are expected to largely cover legal implications as well as Iran’s prospects with its neighbors.
