Establishment of a specialized bank for the oil industry in cooperation with contractors could help solve the sector’s funding problems, said Bahaedin Husseini, a former banker. He says the private sector would have the chance to finance oil and energy projects, Shana reported on Monday. He made the comments during a conference to explore the “Challenges of Financing the Oil Industry.” Husseini added that the main focus of the banking sector now is on monetary policies , which has resulted in banks inability to fund oil, gas and energy projects. “The National Development Fund of Iran could also help resolve the issues, mainly by allocating resources to raise lenders’ capital.”
