Central Bank of Iran Governor, Valiollah Seif, will travel to Germany in November, to discuss reestablishment of banking relations with the European power. Seif is also a speaker at the Third Banking and Business Forum Iran-Europe on November 16-17. A high-profile economic delegation will accompany him during the visit. According to Mehr News Agency, the German Finance Minister Wolfgang Sch?uble will travel to Tehran on October 2, during the Iran-Germany Commercial Week. Even though sanctions were lifted in January, major European banks are still refraining from working with Iran for fear of US penalties. Last week the CBI announced that Middle East Bank, Sina Bank and Parsian Bank will open branches in Munich.
