New production lines for three Renault products will be set up in Iran, the auto policy council’s spokesman told Tasnim news agency on Sunday.
In a meeting between Renault Company officials and Iranian auto-part makers, the French car manufacturer introduced its future plans to produce new products and strategies for providing the Iranian market with auto parts.
“Renault will start to produce U90, B90, and Sandero in Iran after signing contracts with local auto makers,” Sasan Ghorbani said.
Calling it a new chapter of cooperation between Iranian auto part makers and Renault, he said that “we asked Renault to put Iranian auto part providers in the list of its international network.”
At the moment, the company has a global network made up of 13,000 points of sales all around the world.
The spokesman described the present status of Renault production in Iran as inadequate, saying that the production is not consistent with the capacity of local auto makers.
“Renault has expressed dissatisfaction with this situation,” he said.
The French manufacturer has announced that it will enhance the volume of its production in Iran in the near future, according to the official, to make optimum use of the capacities in the auto making industries in Iran.
The policy of the company would be also to manufacture its products inside Iran, said Ghorbani.
