Qazvin Steel Company’s CRC (cold rolled coil) plant was inaugurated by First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri, and, Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh on Tuesday, IRNA reported. The plant, the machinery for which is designed and manufactured by domestic experts, was built at a cost of $25.7 million and is expected to create at least 85 jobs.
The cold rolling plant will produce over 400,000 tons of steel products per year. Rolling is a metal forming process meant to reduce the thickness of the metal stock, the cold variation of which is produced at a temperature below the metal’s recrystallization threshold. Cold-rolling produces a more durable and precise steel product compared to the hot-rolling process.
