Authorities have conditioned the import of household appliances into Iran to licensed representatives of foreign brands who provide after sales services, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran said. “The decision is aimed at regulating imports of household appliances and supporting the rights of consumers,” Mehr News Agency quoted TPOI’s head Veliollah Afkhami-Rad as saying. He said orders placed prior to this decision are exempt from the new regulation.
