The subsidiaries of National Iranian Copper Industries Company, including Sarcheshmeh, Sungun and Miduk copper mining companies, produced an aggregate of more than 371,360 tons of copper concentrate during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 20), which indicates a 23% rise compared to last year’s corresponding period, the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported. NICICO is the leading producer of copper in Iran, operating the three aforementioned mines, whose combined reserves (proven, probable, and possible) have been estimated at 3.4 billion tons of ore with an average of 0.6% copper content. The mines produced a total of 979,650 tons of copper concentrate during the previous fiscal year that ended in March.
