A memorandum of understanding was signed in Baku between the Iranian National Standards Organization and the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Wednesday in the presence of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
As per the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in different areas of standardization including, but not limited to, assessment, verification, measuring equipment, metrology and calibration, IRNA quoted INSO chief, Nayyereh Pirouzbakht, as saying.
Rouhani was in Baku on Sunday to attend trilateral talks with Moscow and the host country, mainly focusing on the project to build the International North–South Transport Corridor. Azerbaijan and Iran have set a goal to quadruple their trade to $2 billion per annum.
