Tehran Stock Exchange intends to design an index for fixed-income securities offered on the exchange, says Chief Executive Hassan Qalibaf-Asl. “We have sent the request for a debt market index to the Securities and Exchange Organization and await their approval,” he has been quoted as saying by SENA. Offering new market indices is difficult due to the internal bureaucracy prevailing at the market regulator, exchanges and Tehran Securities Exchange Technology Management Company. TSETMC is the sole data center for Iranian exchanges. Previous requests for offering new indices by Iran Fara Bourse were stonewalled by the company, a source in IFB, which did not want to be identified, told Financial Tribune.
