The Swiss commercial attaché has expressed hope that foreign investors would invest in Iran’s capital market, particularly in the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE). Stephane Rey, who is also deputy Swiss ambassador to Tehran, made the comment during his visit to the TSE after attending a meeting of German brokerage firms with their Iranian counterparts. The diplomat was briefed on TSE’s trading variables, as well as on the market value, and the indices. The TSE has started an ambitious modernization program aimed at increasing market transparency and attracting more foreign investors. As soon as the international banking restrictions are lifted, foreign investors would be able to conveniently pour their money into the country’s capital market, said Ali Salehabadi, head of the Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO), last month.
