CEO of flag carrier Iran Air Farhad Parvaresh said the airline’s talks with French planemaker Airbus and French-Italian manufacturer of short-haul aircraft ATR are making progress.
“None of the ongoing projects between Iran Air and Airbus has been cancelled,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
His statements came after Reza Jafarzadeh, a spokesman of Iran Civil Aviation Organization, said on Sunday that the multibillion dollar preliminary deals with Airbus and its American rival Boeing for Iran to buy more than 200 jetliners still hold and that all sides remain committed.
“There have not been any changes in the procedures,” Jafarzadeh said.
The two Iranian officials spoke in an apparent response to a New York Time article published on Friday, in which it was claimed that the delays in finalizing the contracts could unravel those deals.
