Sabzevar DRI Plant to Come on Stream in 2017

The construction of Sabzevar’s direct-reduced iron production plant will be completed by the end of December, said the project’s manager. Saeed Nezamdoust added that the plant will become operational in 2017 after the procurement of the required production machinery. Sabzevar Steel Project, located in Khorasan Razavi Province, will have the capacity to produce 800,000 tons of sponge iron per year upon completion. This capacity will be increased to 1 million tons in a later development project, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported on its website.
