High Salaries Returned to Treasury

Referring to unreasonably high salaries of some senior officials, the president of the Central Insurance of Iran said a part of the wages, perks and bonuses plus huge loans outside the norm of the CII has been returned. The salary scandal unraveled weeks ago when payslips of top managers at banks and other government and affiliated companies were exposed on social media. The figures were dozens of times the average of monthly income of an urban household. Noting that salaries paid to CII workers are under review, Abdol Naser Hemmati said 70% of all astronomical salaries and 50% of loans given to officials working for CII have been returned to the treasury, “and the rest will be returned by next month.”
