Athens Stock Exchange has signed a memorandum of understanding to promote mutual cooperation with the Central Securities Depository of Iran. The agreement was signed between Socrates Lazaridis, the chief executive of Athens Stock Exchange’s subsidiary, Hellenic Central Securities Depository, and Mohammad Reza Mohseni, CSDI’s chief executive, in Tehran, on Tuesday, Mehr News Agency reported. The MoU targets dual listings and exchange-traded funds for connecting Athens and Tehran’s securities markets. Athens Stock Exchange, also known as ASE or ATHEX, is based in the Greek capital and controls a securities market, derivatives market, alternative market, carbon market and an over-the-counter market. CSDI is the sole custodian of securities traded on Iranian exchanges.
