Support for Domestic Production

Responding to recent critical remarks by Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, the minister of industries, mining and trade about anemic support of the banking system for the production sector, governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Valiollah Seif, said that the banking sector is “supporting domestic production with full force.”   He says it is “Unfortunate that there is no clear plan in our industrial sector. We must accept the fact that that the production sector is dilapidated and not only continued efforts fail to generate added value, but they devalue the existing resources,” Seif said. Industrial leaders need to employ a mapped-out strategy so that the resources can be spent where they are needed, he said.
