Iranian steel companies manufactured 1.6 million tons of crude steel in May, indicating a 13% rise in production compared to last year’s corresponding period, according to the latest data released by World Steel Association.
This makes Iran the world’s 13th largest producer of the industrial material in that month, one rank higher than its previous standing.
The world’s 66 steelmaking countries produced an aggregate of 139.154 million tons of crude steel in May, indicating a 0.1% and 2.2% decline respectively.
China, Japan, India, the United States, Russia and South Korea were the world’s biggest producers in a descending order.
