Transparency in Gov’t A/Cs

A plan to transfer the bank accounts of government institutions from the banking network to the Central Bank of Iran is underway. In the first conference on the issue hosted by the CBI and attended by the representatives from more than 200 government bodies, the implementation of the plan and the direct collection of government revenues from the treasury by the CBI will help create an atmosphere of transparency and openness in the government’s financial transactions, the CBI website reported. The plan will be operational according to Article 53 of Islamic Republic Constitution, articles 10 and 12 of Monetary and Banking Law, and a directive that was approved by the Money and Credit Council.
