Isfahan annually exports close to $800 million worth of gold bars, according to the Iranian province’s governor general, Rasoul Zargarpour. Mouteh Gold Mine, one of Iran’s biggest gold deposits, is located in Isfahan. The mine produced over 247 kg of gold bars in the last Iranian year (March, 2015-16), up 7% compared to the previous year, IRNA reported.
