As many as 710 domestic and 746 foreign companies have signed up to take part in the 23rd international exhibition of food and agriculture, known as Agro-Food 2016, which opens at Tehran’s International Fairground on Monday. The event is expected to see a 36% and a 9% surge in the number of domestic and foreign participants respectively, IRNA reported. Companies from Spain, Australia, Indonesia, the UK, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Brazil, China, Denmark, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Finland, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, India and Greece among others are showcasing their latest products and services at the exhibition, which will run through June 2. In the runup to the exhibition, a 55-strong delegation of Polish businesspeople, traders and investors from a wide range of sectors, including meat, dairy, beverages, cereals, pastry, chocolate, food processing and agricultural equipment, arrived in Iran to strike deals with their Iranian counterparts.
