Britain and Europe are trying to come up with new mechanisms to help reestablish banking relations with Iran, said the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Philip Hammond, in a meeting with the Central Bank of Iran Governor, Valiollah Seif, said Friday in London. He added that his country has been trying to help reestablish banking relations with Iran, IRNA reported. Britain will meet its commitments to Iran as enshrined in the nuclear agreement reached last year between Iran the six world powers, Hammond added. Seif called for the active participation of British banks in fostering commercial bilateral relations and the reopening of Iranian banks in that country, Seif was in London to take part in the Euromoney Iran Conference.
