Minerals Exceed 21% of Non-Oil Exports

Over $7 billion worth of mineral products were exported in the last Iranian year (ended March 19, 2016), accounting for 21.6% of the overall non-oil export value, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization reported on its website. According to the report, the steel industry and its downstream products made up 38% of the $7 billion figure, cement for 10.4%, copper and its downstream products for 4.1% and aluminum products for 3.2%. Iraq, China, India, Italy and the UAE were the main export destinations for Iran’s mineral products.
