The southwestern province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad exported 3,000 metric tons of industrial and mineral substances since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 21), reported IRNA. The exported materials include white Portland cement, detergents, tile and ceramics, and steel plates and sheets, said Dariush Divdideh, the manager at Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of the province. Divdideh added that the goods were mainly exported to China, Iraq, and Persian Gulf states and were worth $4.5 million. Portland cement is the main product in the province, with a 30% share of non-oil exports from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad. As many as 500 mines out of 700 are active in the province mainly producing phosphate, bauxite, dolomite, silicon, copper, and refractory minerals.
