The High-Speed Rail Technology in Iran Conference will be held in Tehran on May 17, in cooperation with Japan. The event is organized by Japan Engineers Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, IRNA reported. The conference is aimed at introducing Japan’s latest high-speed technology to be used in Iran’s railroad system and discussing the safety, electrical systems, energy conservation, construction costs, environmental impact and further pros and cons of high-speed trains. “The government has set an agenda to transport passengers on the country’s busy routes, including Tehran-Qom-Isfahan, via high-speed trains,” Mohsen Porseyyed Aqaei, IRIR’s managing director, said.
