Bank Melli Iran has initiated new plans to expand its international operations. Abdolnasser Hemmati, the CEO, called for enhancing coordination between the bank’s overseas branches to improve the bank’s performance in the post-sanctions era, BMI’s website quoted him as saying in a meeting with the bank’s branch managers in Dubai on Sunday. BMI is the largest commercial bank in Iran and the Middle East with over 3,300 domestic branches and 43,000 employees. It has 18 overseas branches.
