Esfahan Steel Company has signed an agreement with the Tunisian company ARKEN to do exploration and extraction activities, equip and exploit mines, and build steel manufacturing units in the North African region. Based on the contract, the Iranian steel producer will annually export 100,000 metric tons of iron rods of international steel standard BS4449-2005. The company will also start production of rails for the Tunisian Railway Company, said Sa’d Mohammadi, the general manager of the Iranian steel company, as reported by IRIB.  According to Mohammadi, the rails will be used in building railway lines for high-speed trains in the African continent. Esfahan Steel Company manufactures iron, girders, iron rods, reinforcing bars, as well as chemical substances such as coke and ammonium sulfate.
