Pakistan and Iran have agreed to cooperate in defending the two countries’ projects in international and regional organizations, and exchanged their lists of national standards.

Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority Director General Barkat Saeed Memon and the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran’s Deputy for Supervision Vahid Marandi Moqaddam signed a memorandum of understanding in this regard on Wednesday, Pakistani newspaper News International reported.

The MoU involves bilateral collaboration for the implementation of standardization.

It will allow the exchange of technical consulting services to equip and develop meteorological laboratories, as well as the exchange of experts and experiences on calibration and other fields of cooperation.

It also calls for holding training courses, workshops and seminars for developing national and international standards, conformity assessment, standardization and meteorology.

The two countries also presented the lists of accredited inspection companies for conformity of their assessment certificates for export and import.
