Governor of the Central Bank of Iran said banks issued 1,000 letters of credit following the lifting of the sanctions on Jan. 16. Valiollah Seif said most of the L/Cs were confirmed on Sunday because Bank Muscat, as the key correspondent bank, is open on Sundays, the CBI website quoted him as saying. Other correspondent banks are working to confirm the remaining LCs.
