Insurance firms paid a total of 475.6 billion rials ($15.9 million) for covering transport claims in the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2015), marking a year-on-year growth of 87.17%. According to the Central Insurance company of Iran, insurers sold 250,226 transport policies during the period with overall premium in the category dropping by 15.25% compared to the previous year.
