Iran’s steel mills produced 14.8 million tons of crude steel from January to November 2015, showing a 1% drop in terms of volume compared to last year’s similar period. The decline comes in line with a global downtrend in steel production. Some 1.4 billion tons of crude steel were produced worldwide during the 11-month period, indicating a 2.8% drop. The United States, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil and Russia all recorded decreases of 9.7%, 5%, 2.9%, 2.2%, 1.9% and 0.2% in production for the period.
