The Iranian SHAPARAK payment and settlement network was selected as the best state-run electronic trade scheme at the general meeting of the Asia- Pacific Council for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business, the website of the Central Bank of Iran reported on Monday. Chekavak electronic check system came in third among the private electronic trade schemes. The AFACT meeting included a general session with members discussing the conditions of doing business in member countries, supporting members and new technologies and methods in trade. It also included a biennial competition for best electronic trade schemes called e-Asia Awards. AFACT is a non-governmental organization with members from Asia and Pacific countries seeking ways to ease trade and foster electronic trade among member states.
