EDBI-Asian Exim Banks Coop.

Export Development Bank of Iran is ready to start joint investments with Asian Exim Banks Forum, the bank’s director said. Speaking at the forum’s meeting in Japan, Ali Salehabadi said that developing correspondent relations and issuing forex guarantees are on top of the EDBI agenda for a post-sanction era, the bank’s public relations office quoted him as saying. Salehabadi said his bank wants to be a permanent member of the forum. He referred to bank’s former funding for projects including exporting electricity to Armenia and said that EDBI would also focus on non-oil trade. Asian Exim Banks Forum, established in 1996, aims to enhance banking relations among its members. Currently Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam are membered in the group.
