Iran’s crude steel production hit a record high within the first nine months of 2014, with a 6.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the World Steel Association reported. Iran’s crude steel output reached 12.066 million tons within the first nine months of 2014, while it recorded a production of 11.318 million tons within the same period in 2013. Iran had 1.429 million tons of crude steel supply in September 2014, indicating 4.8 percent surge compared to the same period in 2013. According to the report, Iran’s steel production ranked world’s 14 in September 2014. The output of global steel manufacturers in 65 countries combined reached almost 1.231 trillion tons within the first 9 months of 2014.
