POS terminals accounted for 97% of total transactions in Iran during the seven months ending October 22, according to the Central Bank of Iran’s latest data. There was a 38% year-on-year growth in the use of e-payment services during the period. Variation in e-payment methods remained almost unchanged with POS terminals still ranking first among users. Online transactions ranked second among e-payment methods but only accounting for 3% of the total. According to the CBI, 5.6 billion transactions were made during the period -- a growth of 41% compared to the 4 billion during the same period last year.
