TSE Hosts FEAS Annual Meeting

The Federation of European and Asian Stock Exchanges held its 21st annual meeting last week in the central Iranian city of Isfahan.

Tehran Stock Exchange hosted the event for the third time on November 17-18.

FEAS’s Secretary-General Mustafa Baltaci reviewed the organization’s activities in 2015. FEAS’s audit report was also read.

The non-profit international organization connects the main stock exchanges in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Established in 1995 with 12 founding members, the organization’s reach has expanded to 33 members and 12 affiliates from 29 countries.

Mohammed Omran, chairman of FEAS and executive chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, oversaw the meeting.

Representatives from nine member countries and two non-member countries, Syria and Oman, attended the event.

Armenia’s Armenian Stock Exchange and Central Depository of Armenia, along with Sarajevo Stock Exchange, Bulgarian Stock Exchange, Bucharest Stock Exchange, Kazakhstan Stock Exchange and Jordan’s Amman Stock Exchange and Securities Depository Center participated in the event.

Representatives of Egypt’s Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchange, Misr Clearing, Settlement and Central Depository, and Turkey’s Istanbul Stock Exchange, Takasbank, Central Registration Agency of Turkey were also present at the meeting.

All three of Iran’s exchanges, including Tehran Stock Exchange, Iran Fara Bourse over-the-counter market and Iran Mercantile Exchange, along with the Central Securities Depository of Iran were present.
