The EU imports from Iran during the first eight months of 2014 reached $824 million, showing a 28 percent increase, compared to the same period last year, in which the figure stood at $644 million.
According to the data, the total value of EU imports from Iran in August 2014 amounted to $102 million, indicating a 77 percent increase compared with August 2013.
In an interview with the Tasnim news agency earlier this week, a senior member of the European Parliament (EP) said that the economies of Iran and the European Union are already interdependent, and expressed optimism that the future of mutual trade between Tehran and the EU is even more promising.
