A deputy industry minister announced that 5,000 people had applied for car loans on the first day of the loan scheme on Monday. Mojtaba Khosrotaj said that 99% of the applications asked for Saipa’s Pride, Peugeot and L90 (Dacia Logan), IRNA reported. The loans cover 80% of a vehicle’s price, up to 250 million rials ($8,350) to be repaid in 4-7 years. The car loan scheme is part of the government’s new economic simulative package unveiled last month.
