More than 12.5 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced during the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating a small drop compared to the previous year’s 12.6 million tons of production during the similar period, according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization. The main producers of iron ore concentrate were Chadormalu Mining Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company, Iran Central Iron Ore Company, Sangan Iron Ore Complex and Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Company, each having produced 4.7 million tons, 4.4 million tons, 2.7 million tons, 1.7 million tons and 1.1 million tons respectively, the Financial Tribune’s sister newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
