An oversupply resulting from excessive domestic manufacturing has led to a market glut, says head of Home Appliance Sellers Union, Mohammad Tarhanpour. The manufacturers, according to the official, have pinned hopes on exports to neighboring countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan, which are currently not faring so well. He voiced concern that the prospective removal of western sanctions–imposed on Iran over its nuclear energy program–could exacerbate the situation for domestic manufacturers as competition increases in the market.
