More than 181,000 tons of aluminum ingots were produced by Iran’s three aluminum giants: IRALCO, Al-Mahdi and Hormozal, during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating a 7% increase compared to the similar period of last year, announced Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.
IRALCO topped the charts with 90,065 tons of aluminum ingots produced during the six-month period, followed by Hormozal Company with 50,577 tons and Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company with 40,692 tons. Iran is the 20th largest producer of aluminum in the world, and as per the Vision Plan, the country plans to increase annual production to 1.5 million tons by 2025.
